Paul is a licensed Agent and Insurance Consultant. A native of Pittsburgh and graduate of Gannon College in Erie, PA, he majored in Education. As a former teacher, Paul feels he never left his calling far behind in that he has a passion for knowledge and service to others. Over the years he has taught various professional programs and continues to find himself in teaching and leadership situations, both in the office environment and one-on-one with clients. His commitment to his clients and quest for knowledge is evidenced by his attainment of both the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations. His commitment to his profession is evidenced by his involvement as past president of the Kentucky CPCU Chapter and officer of the Independent Insurance Agents of Kentucky, including his recognition by this group with their prestigious Insuror of the Year Award in 1989 and E Starling Holloway award in 2013 for Life Time Achievement in the Insurance Industry.
Paul initially joined Van Zandt, Emrich & Cary after a few years of teaching and working on the insurance company side of the business. He lead the Van Zandt, Emrich & Cary Team as CEO/President from 1991 through 2012 plus served as Chairman of the Board for a number of years.
He and his wife, Mary Alice, have three grown children and seven grandchildren. Outside the office Paul’s interests include his family, church and community plus whenever he finds a spare moment, reading, golfing and college sporting events.
